Poetry Reading: Chris Agee  Chris Agee was born in San Francisco and grew up in Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island. He attended Harvard University, where he studied with the poet and translator Robert Fitzgerald. Since 1979 has lived in Ireland.  He is the author of three collections, In The New Hampshire Woods (Dedalus Press, 1992), First Light (Dedalus Press, 2003), and Next to Nothing (Salt, 2009). He is also editor of Scar on the Stone: Contemporary Poetry from Bosnia (Bloodaxe Books, 1998, a Poetry Book Society Recommendation) and Unfinished Ireland: Essays on Hubert Butler (Irish Pages, 2003). Local author Kate Kerrigan (Morag Prunty) reads from her new novel, Ellis Island at its official, local launch. A Ballina native, Kate has written seven novels to date – four of them under her own name Morag Prunty. Her last two Kate Kerrigan books, Recipes for a Perfect Marriage and The Miracle of Grace – were translated into numerous languages, and both have been optioned for film.Kate sets much of her work in County Mayo, saying: “I am continuously drawn to writing about the lives of my mother’s and grandmother’s generations.
