T O U C H A B L E: Caren Van Herwaarden 14th May – 25th June Official Opening: Saturday 14th May, 3pm Caren van Herwaarden makes watercolors, drawings, collages and sculptures. In her work she is looking for the meaning of fellow - humanity, physicality, suffering and eroticism. This leads to works that find strength in vulnerability, softness in mercilessness and comfort in dejection.  Human or horse: she is concerned with the naked being, without facade or embellishment. The Nutcracker  dance

Morrison School of Dance Sunday 29th May, 2.30pm Morrison School of Dance is excited to be back on the stage of the Ballina Arts Centre.  This year's show is The Nutcracker Ballet with children from the schools in Swinford and Ballina. The Nutcracker is an 1892 two-act ballet, with a score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The libretto is adapted from ETA Hoffmann's 1816 short story ‘The Nutcracker and the Mouse King’. Although the original production was not a success, the 20-minute suite that Tchaikovsky extracted from the ballet was.
