The first work in this double bill, “Visible and Invisible”, is choreographed by John Scott for Linda Fearon, a dancer with a disability from Belfast, and Tara Brandel. The duet features a new music commission from Tom Lane based on Latin plainchant and is rooted in the complementary physicality of the two dancers as they support each other.
The second work “#Too” is choreographed by Tara Brandel for herself, Linda and Sarah Ryan. It explores the Me Too phenomena from a dancer’s perspective, drawing on the women’s personal experiences and interviews with other female dancers in response to questions such as: How are we treated? What are our experiences? How is difference navigated within this context?
The works are supported by the Arts Council and partners Dance Ireland and Firkin Crane.
