Material Residue: Roisin O’Sullivan
Official Opening: Friday 13th July, 7pm
Róisín O’Sullivan’s work explores process, surface and experimentation through the mediums of painting, drawing and printmaking. While profoundly engaged with the contemporary, the work touches upon traditional aspects of art including subject and material techniques.
By collecting both found and shop bought woods and papers, the influence and condition of surface has become an investigative source of interest. The grains, knots and conditions of the materials often influence the form and content of the work. From the edges to the marks and holes in the wood; the paint works with these elements creating an intuitive visible language amongst the rawness of surface.
Runs until 25th August. Admission free. All welcome.
