The annual Mayo Manchester Tradfest Gala Concert returns to Ballina on Saturday 4 August to stage their special 6th anniversary show. The event sponsored by the Dublin Mayo Association is to be hosted by Alan Keegan ‘The Voice of Old Trafford’ and MUTV presenter from Manchester United Football Club.
The concert will feature performances by The Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band who are celebrating their 70th anniversary. The Manchester based award winning band is one of the few bands in the world to have the honour of playing at both the 50th and 100th Irish Independence celebrations in Dublin. Joining the band from Manchester is Irish Singer, Dancer and multi-instrumentalist, Joe Keegan from the hit BBC Show, The Voice. Joe has just released his new album ‘Pick Myself Up’ and has over 30,000 followers on social media. Alo joining Joe from Manchester is Marian Waldron whose Mayo roots stem from Lahardane, Marian will be debuting her new single 'When New York was Irish which was filmed at the Attymass Famine cottage in New York.
Representing Mayo Dancing talent on the night is The Murphy Moore Irish Dance Academy and the Turley Duggan Irish Dance Academy plus the Jiving Juniors as featured on RTE Late Late TV Show. Mayo’s musical talent is being represented by The Centre Stage Vocal Academy who last year had the honour of welcoming the new Taoiseach Leo Varadkar on his first visit to Ballina. They will be joined on stage by Con Murphy (https://conmurphymusic.com) who has just released his new album ‘The Fjord’ to critical acclaim. Also appearing at the concert is Mayo Manchester Tradfest’s favourite artist, singer songwriter, Dennis McCalmont.
