WhistleBlast Quartet Secondary Schools Project Concert

As part of their Autumn/Winter Secondary Schools Residency programme in Ballina, the WhistleBlast Quartet (Conor Linehan: piano; Ken Edge: saxophones and clarinets; Mary Curran: French Horn; and Oonagh Keogh: violin) will perform a brand new composition entitled Local Memories, composed and created with 75 students from St. Mary's Secondary School (Ballina), St Dymphna's Special School (Ballina) and Jesus & Mary Secondary School Gortnor Abbey (Crossmolina). 

This exciting finale to WhistleBlast workshops will include musical excerpts inspired by local rivers Deel and Moy, the Ballina Salmon Festival and memories from the Titanic in 1912. Some Christmas tunes will also feature.....

Funded by Mayo County Council, Ballina Beverages, Blackshell Farm Ltd, Ballina Arts Centre and contributions from schools involved.
