Veronica McSwiney: The Story of Chopin
St. Michael’s Church
Veronica McSwiney, one of Ireland's finest pianists, presents this tribute, in words and music, to commemorate the bicentenary of the birth of one of the world’s greatest composers, Frederic Chopin.
Veronica will take you through Chopin's life story and perform many of his famous works, including the Grande Polonaise op.57, the Scherzo in B Flat, the Ballade in A Flat, as well as a number of waltzes and Etudes, in a truly unique concert and insight into the life of Poland's great pianist.
"The music of Frederic Chopin is possibly the most popular of all music ever written for the piano, and I love him,” says Veronica, one of Ireland's best regarded pianists.
During her distinguished career, Veronica has made a particular study of this great musician, who is one of her favourite composers. This promises to be a very special evening to salute Poland's beloved ‘Poet of the Piano’.
